A building with tradition and history benefits if it adapts to some extent to modern times. Architect David Mackey wanted the visual axis of the building, horizontal as well as vertical, be accentuated. As an example of contemporary times a playful vertical tail, embellished with illuminated cubes, is placed at the entrance of this solid, very 'Limburgian' building.

The small neon sculptures are clearly visible in the reflecting inside of the cubes and from a certain perspective one sees endless repetition. They look like fireflies of various size in a musical waterfall. The multiple reflections create depth, but also a universe of dancing neon secrets. In this way, an interesting interchange between architecture and art is created.
